Tiara Advice

Don’t be rushed at the bridal shops into buying a tiara that they have chosen with the dress. You can always go back to it but my collection is in the main more reasonably priced, designed and lovingly hand made by myself, with the dresses you choose in mind.

If you have a theme to the wedding we can incorporate it into your tiara so it’s worth considering commissioning a tiara from me.

Face shape: to check simply scrape all your hair away from your face and look in a good sized mirror

• Round faces look great with a raised centre to help elongate the face.
• Square faces need rounder softer designs to soften the angles.
• Oval faces (you’re lucky) can get away with anything!
  

Think also about how you want your hair when deciding… see my portfolio page for hair ideas. If you are having a flat style a high tiara can look strange. If you are having curls piled on top then your tiara can afford to be larger. The veil may have to sit next to the tiara so if the veil has a large comb then a combed tiara is going to be difficult to fit in your hair.

Don’t forget to follow the wire colours through with your beading/embroidery on the dress, veil and other chosen accessories. If the dress is very detailed it may look too much to have a heavily detailed tiara. Also are you looking for funky or more traditional styles?

Maybe you could also ask your florist to add some wired jewels on your bouquet to co-ordinate the look.

You don’t have to have a tiara at all (it’s not compulsory!)…. you may prefer a detailed hair ornament or jewelled pins these are great for all members of the bridal party. It’s whatever you feel comfortable with.
